We are proud to showcase our extraordinary, custom built enclosure for the now residing Ferruginous Hawks. The dome is soon to be the home of our new arrival; a male, baby Bald Eagle.
ABOUT
THE DOME
The enclosure consists of two separate structures, merged with a breezeway allowing unlimited and unobstructed access from one to the other.
The enclosed, dry shelter is a 10-foot by 10-foot structure with an approximate height of 10 feet. The structure has a digitally automated lighting system and infrared heat lamp system for the winter months.
The dome is a 3V 5/9 Geodesic design with an inside ground diameter of approximately 21 feet and a peak height of over 25 feet.
The entire structure is draped and secured with a polypropylene sports netting, allowing exposure to all natural elements and protection for the birds from unwelcomed intruders.
The dome sits on 15 cedar posts, which are wrapped in heavy steel galvanized-meshing along the full circumference of the structure. Each post is buried four feet into the ground, with the galvanized-meshing also reaching underground to a depth of two feet, further preventing any unwelcome visitors.
The entire structure was built by hand and completed with inspiration.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions regarding the enclosure. We would love to share our inspiration with you.
